The personal information that you are asked to provide, and the reasons why you are asked to provide it, will be made clear to you at the point we ask you to provide your personal information. This includes:

How we secure your information
The information we collect from your visit is secured by the following methods:
- All web pages and data transmission between pages is secured by Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates.
- Creation of secure passwords is enforced requiring a password of at least 8 characters including letters, numbers and punctuation.
- All account activities require secure login by the customer.
- Any payment information collected is never stored locally on our website, with the exception of the last 4 digits of any credit card information. It is tokenized with our payment processor and only the token information is stored locally.

How long we retain your information
Our customer information retention policies are as follows:
- If you subscribe to our newsletter or email lists, we retain your email address until you unsubscribe. You can easily unsubscribe via instructions on the bottom of emails sent to you.
- For users that register on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time.
- If you leave a comment or rating, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
- If you place an order on our website, all order related information is retained for a minimum of 6 months after completion of the order.
Michigan Testing Institute, Inc. follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

Like any other website, Michigan Testing Institute, Inc. uses ‘cookies’. These cookies are used to store information including visitors’ preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.
